Today I have a guest post from ME!!!!!!
The dress is hanging up & sparkling!
The hair and nails are done!
The shoes are glistening new in the box!
Where am I going?
Well….I have been lucky enough to be invited to the Irish Book Awards tonight in Dublin by Vanessa Fox O’ Loughlin. Vanessa is the founder of Inkwell Publications and is also the brains behind the fantastic website Writing.ie , the online resource for all your literary requirements. Of course some of you know her as Sam Blake, crimefiction writer of Little Bones.
I’m hoping to report back from my trip but in the meantime, here’s a look at who I expect I’ll be stalking….
‘The Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards brings together the entire literary community – readers, authors, booksellers, publishers and librarians – to recognise and celebrate the very best of Irish literary talent.
The Awards dinner has become the major event in the literary calendar with some of Ireland’s, and indeed the world’s, most recognised authors gathering together in a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition to celebrate the success of the past year.’

Having only read a selection of the shortlisted books I’ll be hoping to get an opportunity to read a few more in due course but…that won’t stop me looking around, with my jaw on the floor, starstruck, seeing all these great folk in one location.
I do have Maggie O’ Farrell’s This Must be the Place in my TBR pile and Graham Norton’s Holding is on my wishlist…..well I am a Cork woman!!!
I’ll probably be picking a few Christmas presents out of this list for the other readers in my life too…such a fab collection.
To be invited to such an event after such a short time being a book blogger is an absolute thrill. I am nervous. I am excited….but most of all I am honoured!
I’ll be looking for Graham’s red chair next to tell my story 😉
