Sammy has her owner wrapped around her paw. She is cheeky but loveable and the story shows her adventures around the town of Bertsville. All the people in Bertsville know Sammy!!!
– Silly Sammy
Maria Breen-Fahey is an Irish writer from Galway. Her debut children’s book Silly Sammy is published by Tribes Press.
Sunday 13th October will see the official launch of Silly Sammy into the world at the Menlo Park Hotel in Galway at 1pm.
I am always delighted to shine a spotlight on local Irish writers. I wish Maria every success with Sammy.
If you happen to be in the Galway area on Sunday 13th why not pop your head in and say Hello! to Maria and Sammy!
Literacy is one of Maria’s passions and she considers reading for pleasure being of huge importance to children. As a primary school teacher, Maria encourages her students to make connections between their lives, their environment and with what they are reading.
Maria had a childhood dog, a cheeky terrier, who gave her many eventful and memorable moments growing up. By writing Silly Sammy, Maria is sharing her bond with her childhood dog as a source of inspiration and connection.
